Michael Kimmel (author of Guyland) is a noteable American sociologist, specializing in gender studies and focusing often an studies of masculinity. He is the founder and editor of the academic journal Men and Masculinities and is a spokesperson of The National Organization For Men Against Sexism (NOMAS). He was also a keynote speaker at the National Women’s Studies Association conference in Atlanta, GA last year (2011) in November.
